My work challenges the associations that come with the perceived use of construction and labor materials. I work with found objects and materials from my surroundings to recontextualize and transform their implications from something mundane and industrial to something explorative, expressive, and personal.
The playful exploration of material and material comparison allows her to explore the transformative effects of accumulation and association. I bring in an altered view of common materials and a shifting perspective to question the final product or piece.
My practice focuses on the surface of forms and objects as a space for meditative labor, where repetition becomes both a method and a form of reflection. Each action builds on the last, forming textured, layered surfaces that hold traces of endurance, presence, and transformation.
